The crashed car in the fountain.

In 1996 Alton Towers opened their multi-million pound hotel. And in 2001 ATT had the pleasure of staying in it.

Located next to a cliff you enter at the top of the cliff on the second floor. The restaurant is n the ground floor, the pool is on first floor, reception is on second floor and most of the rooms are on the third floor. So unless you want to do a lot of walking we suggest you take the lifts.

The lift is a ride in itself. As soon as the door closes the lights begin to flash and you get to listen to random music including that from Hex, Nemesis, Black Hole and sometimes you might catch Oblivion on a longer journey.

The Explorer rooms are standard sleep four rooms with T.V etc. but if you can afford it we recommend you stay in the Oblivion or Nemesis suite. These rooms are fully themed and you can listen to the music from your favourite ride.

As soon as you're settled in you might want to book a table for dinner and the pool, yes the pool. Only a limited amount of people are allowed in the pool in each 45 minute session.

NOTE: Breakfast and Lunch are included in the price of the room but Dinner is not and you WILL be hungry after a day in the park.

In the morning get up early and take advantage of XRT. Take the monorail to the main entrance at 8.50 for Oblivion or meet in the 'ship area' for Nemesis. You'll be met by a construction worker who'll explain the legend before leading you straight to Nemesis via the woodland path.

Overall the Alton Towers hotel is a great experience and worth staying in. However it is a little overpriced since park tickets are NOT including and dinner is NOT included.
